Result Guard ("Result Guard", "we", "us") is operated by Casey Jessup as a sole proprietorship based in Monroe, Washington. Result Guard provides storefront discovery monitoring for Shopify merchants and agencies. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Result Guard app and the resultguard.app website.

Information we collect

  • Install and account data. When you install Result Guard through Shopify, we receive your store domain, basic shop details, and an access token scoped to read products, themes, content, publications, and markets. Result Guard is designed not to request protected Shopify customer, order, or payment-card data for ordinary monitoring.
  • Catalog data. Products, variants, SKUs, collections, and publication state synced from your store so we can verify storefront discovery against live truth.
  • Monitoring data. The monitoring rules you define, check results, screenshots of your public storefront pages, and related evidence. Screenshots may include product names, prices, collection pages, theme content, or other storefront content visible to shoppers.
  • Alert configuration. The email addresses, Slack webhooks, or webhook URLs you provide to receive notifications. When you configure an alert destination, you direct us to deliver alert content and related evidence to that third-party service or endpoint.
  • Billing. Subscriptions are handled by Shopify. We receive your plan and subscription status, not your payment card details.
  • Technical logs. Standard operational and security logs needed to run the service.

How we use information

We use this data to run discovery checks, detect and alert on failures, produce reports, provide support, secure the service, and improve it. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your store data to train third-party advertising models.

Protected customer data

Result Guard does not request Shopify scopes for customer records, orders, payment cards, or other protected customer data as part of its standard storefront discovery monitoring. If a merchant sends personal information to us through a support request or includes it in an alert destination, we use that information only to provide and support the service.

Sharing and subprocessors

We rely on infrastructure and delivery providers to operate Result Guard — for example, application hosting and email, Slack, or webhook delivery. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security terms. If you configure a Slack channel, email address, or webhook destination, alert data is sent to the third-party service or endpoint you choose. We disclose information when required by law or to protect the service.

Retention and deletion

Unless your plan or a written agreement says otherwise, routine monitoring results, screenshots, reports, and related evidence are retained for up to 90 days. Operational logs and backups may persist for a limited additional period for security, reliability, and recovery. When you uninstall the app, your access is revoked and we delete your shop's data in line with Shopify's requirements. We honor the app/uninstalled webhook and the Shopify GDPR data-request and erasure webhooks.

Security

Access tokens are stored securely, access is restricted to what's needed to operate the service, and we apply standard technical and organizational safeguards.

Your choices

You can uninstall Result Guard at any time from your Shopify admin, which revokes our access and triggers deletion. For data access or deletion requests, contact us at support@resultguard.app.
